Small business demand index: how we read the signals

This is not a public leaderboard of “best businesses.” It explains how observed search signals feed a Demand Report — and what they cannot tell you.

Data freshnessPage copy and structure: September 1, 2026. Your report metrics are generated at purchase time.

What “demand” means here

We look at observable search interest around an idea in a chosen country. The reading is observational. It is not a forecast of revenue or profit.

What an observed index is

When a Demand Report includes an index, it is a shorthand for how observed signals look together — not a recommendation to launch or shut down an idea. We do not publish the scoring recipe on Research pages.

What we refuse to do on Research pages

We do not publish invented volumes, fake “HIGH demand” badges, or ranked “top businesses” tables without a live, attributable dataset behind each row. If a number is not evidenced, it does not appear as zero — it does not appear.

How to use this

Pick a concrete idea, run a Demand Report, and read the evidence in the report. Use Research to understand the method; use the product for the measurement.

Takeaway

Demand readings are useful before you invest months. They are not a substitute for financial modeling, legal work, or talking to customers.

FAQ

Is this a public demand index with live scores?

No. This article explains the method. Live readings are generated per idea inside a Demand Report when evidence exists.

Will you publish ranked business lists here?

Only if they come from a structured dataset we can cite. We will not invent rankings for SEO.
